Diagnostic Aids

DTC B1825, B1850, B1860, B2355, B2365, or B2375 Diagnostic Test

1 Did you perform the Power Seat Diagnostic System Check? - Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the appropriate Position Sensor parameter in the seat module Sensor Data list.
Is the Position Sensor parameter is within the specified range?
0.39-4.58 V Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the position sensor connector.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Position Sensor parameter.
Is the Position Sensor parameter less than the specified value?
0.39 V Go to Step 4  Go to Step 8

  1. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the 5-volt reference circuit of the position sensor and the signal circuit of the position sensor.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Position Sensor parameter.
Is the Position Sensor parameter greater than the specified value?
4.58 V Go to Step 5  Go to Step 7

  1. Disconnect the fused jumper wire.
  2. Measure the voltage between the 5-volt reference circuit of the seat sensor and the low reference circuit of the seat sensor.
Is the voltage measure greater than the specified value?
5 V Go to Step 6  Go to Step 10 
6 Test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 12 
7 Test the 5-volt reference circuit for one of the following conditions:
  • A short to ground
  • A high resistance
  • An open

Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 9 
8 Test the signal circuit of the position sensor for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 12 
9 Test the signal circuit of the position sensor for one of the following conditions:
  • A short to ground
  • A high resistance
  • An open

Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 12 
10 Test the low reference circuit of the position sensor for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 11 
11 Inspect for poor connections at the position sensor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 13 
12 Inspect for poor connections at the seat control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and toConnector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 15  Go to Step 14 
13 Replace the seat sensor. Refer to Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement - Power .
Did you complete the replacement?
- Go to Step 15  -
14 Replace the seat module. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
- Go to Step 15  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
- Go to Step 2  System OK
