1 Did you review the Wiper/Washer System Description and Operation  and perform the necessary inspections? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic Starting Point - Wiper/Washer Systems

  1. Disconnect the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON, engine OFF.
Is the washer still on?
Go to Step 3  Go to Step 4 
3 Repair the short to ground condition in the washer control circuit between the wiper/washer switch and the washer pump. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Is the repair complete?
Go to Step 5  -
4 Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Wipers/Washer Switch Replacement .
Is the replacement complete?
Go to Step 5  -

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON, engine OFF.
  2. Operate the washer pump.
Does the washer pump operate properly?
System OK -
