Radio Display Inoperative, No Sound from Speakers

Radio Display Inoperative, No Sound from Speakers

1 Did you review the Radio/Audio System Description and Operation  and perform the necessary inspections? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic Starting Point - Entertainment

  1. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn on the radio and verify that the radio has no sound and no display.
Does the radio operate normally?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the radio connector. Refer to Radio Replacement  for access.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, with the engine OFF.
  3. Test for ignition positive voltage at the radio connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 4 
4 Test the ground circuit at the radio connector for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 5 
5 Test the Radio Memory circuit at the radio connector for battery positive voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go toStep 6 
6 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the radio. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 7 
7 Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 8  -
8 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 3
