Park Lamps Always On

Schematic Reference: Exterior Lights Schematics 
1 Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections? Go to Step 2  Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems 
2 Verify that the park lamps are always on.
Does the system operate normally?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3 
3 Disconnect the daytime running lamp control module
Did the park lamps turn off?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 6 
4 With the DRL control module still disconnected.
Using a multimeter, Test cavity 13 of the DRL control module connector for continuity to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing
Is a ground present?
Go to Step 5  Go to Step 12

  1. Disconnect the Turn Signal/ Headlamp Switch.
  2. Test cavity 13 of the Headlamp Switch connector for continuity to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing
Is ground present?
Go to Step 8  Go to Step 10 
6 Disconnect the tail lamp relay.
Did the tail lamps turn off?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 9 
7 Test cavity 2 of the tail lamp relay for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs
Did you find and complete the repair.
Go to Step 13  Go to Step 11 
8 Repair the short to ground in the Park Lamps Signal Circuit between the headlamp Switch and the DRL Control Module. Refer to Wiring Repairs
Did you find and complete the repair.
Go to Step 13  -
9 Repair the short to voltage in the Tail Lamp Supply Voltage circuit between the Tail lamp relay and the tail lamps. Refer to Wiring Repairs
Did you find and complete the repair.
Go to Step 13  -
10 Replace the Turn Signal/Headlamp Switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement 
Did you complete the repair
Go to Step 13  -
11 Replace the Tail Relay. Refer to Relay Replacement (Within an Electrical Center) or Relay Replacement (Attached to a Wire Harness)
Did you complete the repair
Go to Step 13  -
12 Replace the daytime running lamp control module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement .
Did you complete the repair?
Go to Step 13  -
13 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 3
