Schematic Reference: Interior Lights Schematics 
1 Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections? Go to Step 2  Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems 
2 Verify that the Courtesy lamps are always on.
Does the system operate normally?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3 
3 Test for a short to ground in the interior lamp control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 4 
4 Test for a short to ground in each of the door jamb switches circuits.
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 5 
5 Test each door jamb switch for proper operation. Refer to the following:
  • Open switch with the door closed
  • Closed switch with the door open

Did you find a malfunctioning door jamb switch?
Go to Step 6  Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems
6 Replace the malfunctioning door jamb switch.
Did you complete the repair?
Go to Step 7  -
7 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 3
