Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the passenger seat inflatable restraint, if removed. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG) .
  2. Install the seat back trim panel (2), if removed. Refer to SEAT BACK TRIM REPLACEMENT - FRONT  .
  3. Install the seat back recliners (5) to the seat back assembly (1). Refer to SEAT BACK RECLINER REPLACEMENT - FRONT  .
  4. Install the seat back assembly (1) to the seat adjuster (16).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  5. Install the bolts (15) to the seat back assembly (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts (15) to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).

  6. Install the seat adjuster track covers (14). Refer to SEAT ADJUSTER TRACK COVER REPLACEMENT - FRONT (OUTBOARD)  or SEAT ADJUSTER TRACK COVER REPLACEMENT - FRONT (INBOARD)  .
  7. Install the front seat head restraint. Refer to HEAD RESTRAINT REPLACEMENT - FRONT SEAT  .
  8. Install the front seat assembly. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUCKET  .
