Removal & Installation (Side Impact AIR Bag)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. For driver side impact air bag module, see ZONE 7  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.. For passenger side impact air bag module, see ZONE 9  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM..
  2. Remove applicable front seat back cover. See Fig 1. Disconnect side impact air bag module electrical connector. Remove side impact air bag module nuts. Remove side impact air bag module.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten side impact air bag module nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. For passenger side impact air bag module, see ZONE 9  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.. For driver side impact air bag module, see ZONE 7  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM..
