Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-Ring Replacement  .
  2. Install the accumulator tube tube.
  3. Connect the accumulator tube to the evaporator.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the accumulator tube to evaporator core block fitting bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  5. Connect the accumulator tube to the accumulator tube (2).
  6. Tighten the accumulator tube nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).

  7. Install the accumulator tube clip.
  8. Install the vacuum brake booster brakes. Refer to POWER BRAKE BOOSTER .
  9. Install the brake pressure modulator valve bracket. Refer to BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE (BPMV) BRACKET REPLACEMENT .
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery And Recharging  .
  12. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  .
