Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the ignition switch. Refer to IGNITION AND KEY ALARM SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ASSEMBLE - Off Vehicle .
  2. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT - On Vehicle (Cylinder Rotates)  or IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT - On Vehicle (Unable To Rotate Cylinder) .
  3. Install the steering column shrouds. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  4. Connect the steering column electrical connector to the vehicle.
  5. Install the left side closeout insulator panel. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT .
  6. Connect the battery negative cable to the battery. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PRO .
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
