Fuel Tank: Removal

- Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Drain the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK DRAINING . Raise and support vehicle.
- Disconnect the quick-connect fitting at the inlet side of the fuel filter. See Figure. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
- Disconnect the quick-connect fitting on the fuel return pipe, near the fuel filter. Disconnect the EVAP purge pipe quick-connect fitting at the EVAP canister (short wheel base) or near the fuel filter (long wheel base).
- Disconnect the vapor recirculation pipe from the fuel filler tube. Disconnect the fuel filler hose at the fuel tank. With the aid of an assistant, support the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank strap bolts. Disconnect the fuel sender and the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connectors at the body pass through. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
