DTC B2823: Trip Odometer Reset Switch Circuit Low: Testing
- If IPC diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If IPC diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with engine off. Using scan tool, observe TRIP RESET SWITCH parameter in IPC DATA LIST. If scan tool displays trip reset switch parameter as INACTIVE, go to next step. If trip reset parameter does read as INACTIVE, go to step 4 .
- Press and release trip reset switch, while observing TRIP RESET SWITCH PARAMETER in IPC DATA LIST. If trip reset switch parameter does not change state and odometer does not change from season to trip when switch is pressed and released, go to next step. If trip reset switch parameter changes state and odometer changes from season to trip when switch is pressed and released, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle under CODE ENABLE CRITERIA conditions. If DTC resets, go to step 2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
