DTC B1440: Power Mode Master Input Circuits Mismatch: Testing
- If IPC diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If IPC diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with engine off. Using scan tool, observe Ignition 0 (IGN 0) and Ignition 1 (IGN 1) parameters in IPC INPUT DATA LIST. If scan tool displays near battery voltage for both parameters, go to next step. If scan tool does not display near battery voltage for both parameters, go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Using scan tool, observe IGN 1 parameter in the IPC DATA LIST. If scan tool displays near battery voltage, go to step 5 . If scan tool does not display near battery voltage, check for intermittent or poor connections in related electrical connections. See DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS . Repair wiring or connections as necessary.
- Test inactive ignition switch voltage circuit(s) for high resistance, open or short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no problem is found, go to step 6 . If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Test IGN 1 voltage circuit for short to voltage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no problem is found, go to step 6 . If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Check for poor connections at IPC harness connectors C1 and C2. See Figure . If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 8 .
- Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle under CODE ENABLE CRITERIA conditions. If DTC resets, go to step 2 . If DTC does not reset, system is okay.
