Test A: Power Seats Inoperative
- Review power seat system POWER SEATS under DESCRIPTION & OPERATION. Perform necessary inspections. See PRELIMINARY INSPECTION under TROUBLE SHOOTING. After review, go to next step.
- Attempt to operate all seat adjuster motors through full range of adjustment. If all power seat adjuster motors do not operate properly, go to next step. If all power seat adjuster motors operate properly, problem may be intermittent. Check for intermittent or poor connections. Repair as necessary. See PRELIMINARY INSPECTION under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- If all power seat functions are inoperative, go to next step. If one or more power seat functions are inoperative, go to step 6.
- Check for open or high resistance in Orange wire between POWER SEAT/PSD CIRCUIT BREAKER (30-amp) fuse, located in fuse block at right side of passenger door opening, and suspect seat adjuster switch harness connector terminal "A". If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 12.
- Check for high resistance or open in Black wire between ground and seat adjuster switch harness connector terminal "D". See Fig 1. Ground point G308 is located at lower left "B" pillar. See Figure. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 12.
- Disconnect inoperative seat adjuster motor Black 6-pin harness connector. Connect test light between inoperative seat adjuster motor control circuits. See ADJUSTER MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table. Press inoperative seat adjuster switch in each direction. If test light illuminates when switch is pressed in both directions, go to step 8. If test light does not illuminate when switch is pressed in both directions, go to next step.ADJUSTER MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION

Check for an open or short to ground in inoperative seat adjuster motor control circuits between appropriate seat adjuster motor and seat adjuster switch. See ADJUSTER MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION table. If circuits are okay, go to step 10. If circuit(s) are not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 12.
- Check inoperative seat adjuster motor connector for damage, intermittent or poor terminal contact. If connector and terminal contact are okay, go to next step. If connector or terminal contact is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 12.
- Replace appropriate seat adjuster motor assembly. After repair, go to step 12.
- Check seat adjuster switch connector for damage, intermittent or poor terminal contact. If connector and terminal contact are okay, go to next step. If connector or terminal contact is not okay, repair as necessary. After repair, go to next step.
- Replace seat adjuster switch. After repair, go to step 12.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate system to verify fault no longer exists. If fault still exists, go to step 2.
