Test M: Key-In-Ignition Chime On With Driver's Side Front Door Open, Key Not In Ignition

  1. If audible warnings system operation check has been performed, go to next step. If audible warnings system operation check has not been performed, perform audible warnings system operation check. See AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Disconnect junction block 8-pin harness connector C2. Junction block is located under left side of instrument panel. If chime still sounds go to next step. If chime stops sounding, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and junction block harness connector C4 terminal No. 14 (Blue/Black wire). See Figure . If any voltage exists, go to step  5 . If no voltage exists, go to step  6 .
  4. Replace ignition key warning switch. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  5. Repair short to voltage in Blue/Black wire between junction block and chime audio alarm module. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  6. Inspect chime audio alarm module harness connector for damaged terminals. If chime audio alarm module harness connector and terminals are okay, replace chime audio alarm module. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
