Test G: Oil Pressure Indicator Does Not Illuminate
- If instrument cluster system operation check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument cluster system operation check has not been performed, perform instrument cluster system operation check. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Disconnect oil pressure switch harness connector. Connect fused jumper wire between ground and oil pressure switch harness connector Yellow/Black wire terminal. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If oil pressure indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If oil pressure indicator illuminates, go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect fused jumper wire. Disconnect instrument cluster 16-pin harness connector C1. Measure resistance of Yellow/Black wire between instrument cluster 16-pin harness connector terminal No. 8 and oil pressure switch harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 5 . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to step 6 .
- Inspect oil pressure switch for damaged connector or terminal. If connector and terminal are okay, replace oil pressure switch. After repair, perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Inspect instrument cluster printed circuit for cracks, bad connections or corrosion. If instrument cluster printed circuit is okay, replace oil pressure indicator bulb. After repair, perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Repair open in Yellow/Black wire between instrument cluster and oil pressure switch. After repair, perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
