Test N: Key-In-Ignition Chime On With Driver's Side Front Door Closed

  1. If audible warnings system operation check has been performed, go to next step. If audible warnings system operation check has not been performed, perform audible warnings system operation check. See AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Disconnect driver's side front door jamb switch connector. If chime stops sounding, go to next step. If chime does not stop sounding, go to step  4 .
  3. Replace driver's side front door jamb switch. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  4. Disconnect chime audio alarm module 7-pin harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and chime audio alarm module harness connector terminal No. 6 (Blue/Black wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step  6 .
  5. Repair short to ground in Blue/Black wire between junction block and chime audio alarm module. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  6. Replace chime audio alarm module. After repair, perform AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
