Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the multifunction turn signal switch. Use a small flat-blade in order to compress the electrical contact and move the multifunction turn signal switch into position.
  2. Verify that the electrical contact rests on the canceling cam.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE
  3. Install the multifunction turn signal switch assembly (2) and secure by using 2 pan head tapping screws (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

  4. Route the wire harness assembly (1) along the steering column jacket assembly.
  5. Install the wire harness assembly (1) into the wire harness strap (2).

  6. Install the wire harness strap (2) to the upper tilt head assembly (1).

    Install the wire harness strap (2) onto the wire harness assembly.

  7. Verify that the lever is in the center or the OFF position.
  8. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to AIR BAG MODULES
  9. Install the upper and lower steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle 
  10. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement 
  11. Enable the SIR. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Engine Electrical.
