Damper Solenoid Valves
RTD shock absorbers provide dampening by forcing fluid through internal orifices to resist suspension movement. Two levels of operation are achieved by redirecting oil flow using a solenoid valve. Soft mode is accomplished by pulse width modulating more OFF time than ON time, causing hydraulic oil to by-pass main damper valving. Firm mode is accomplished by pulse width modulating more ON time than OFF time, causing oil to flow through main damper valving. The RTD solenoid valve is a normally open design and when off will be in full soft position.
