Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the air distribution duct through the dash braces. See Figure.
- Install the air distribution duct and connect to the right side duct.
- Install the air distribution duct screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the IP trim pad. Refer to TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) (PONTIAC) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
NOTE:
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
