Test C: Lights Inoperative In Content Theft Deterrent Alarm Mode
- If vehicle theft deterrent diagnostic system test has been performed, go to next step. If vehicle theft deterrent diagnostic system test has not been performed, go to VEHICLE THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS.
- Perform one of the following to activate Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) alarm mode by operating PANIC button on Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, or by completing following steps:
- Open driver door.
- Lock vehicle using power door lock switch.
- Close all doors and wait at least 30 seconds.
- Reach in vehicle and unlock driver door manually.
- Open driver door.
If all alarm mode functions do not activate (lights flash and horn pulses), go to next step. If all alarm mode functions activate, perform this procedure while wiggling related wiring and connectors. This can often cause malfunction to appear.
- If only headlights are inoperative, diagnose and repair headlight circuit. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article. If headlights and horn are inoperative, go to TEST A: CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT ALARM MODE INOPERATIVE .
