Clutch Pedal Stays On Floor

  1. Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If not, see VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION  .
  2. Inspect to see if the master cylinder pushrod has fallen off the clutch pedal. Has the master cylinder pushrod fallen off the clutch pedal? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  4 .
  3. Correctly install the master cylinder pushrod. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then repair is complete. If not, then go to next step.
  4. Inspect the reservoir for fluid. Is there fluid in the reservoir? If yes, then go to step  6 . If not, then go to next step.
  5. Inspect the clutch hydraulic line for bursting or leaking line. Did you find and correct the condition? If yes, then go to step  12 . If not, then go to next step.
  6. Inspect the master cylinder for being faulty. Is the master cylinder faulty? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  8 .
  7. Replace the master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then go to step  12 . If not, then go to next step.
  8. Remove the transmission. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect the clutch actuator for binding. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then go to step  12 . If not, then go to next step.
  9. Inspect the clutch release bearing. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then go to step  12 . If not, then go to next step.
  10. Inspect the clutch diaphragm spring. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then go to step  12 . If not, then go to next step.
  11. Replace the clutch pressure plate. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find a repair the condition? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  2 .
  12. Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition? If yes, then repair is complete. If not, then go to step  2 .
