Clutch Pedal Hard To Push

  1. Did you review the clutch symptom operations and perform the necessary inspections? If yes, go to next step. If not, see VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION  .
  2. Check the clutch pedal in order to ensure that it is properly lubricated. Does the clutch pedal need lubricating? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  4 .
  3. Lubricate the clutch pedal. Is the pedal still hard to push? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then repair is complete.
  4. Inspect the clutch hydraulic line for blockage or crimping. Is the hydraulic line blocked or crimped? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  6 .
  5. Replace the clutch hydraulic line. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then repair is complete. If not, then go to next step.
  6. Inspect the clutch master cylinder for binding. Is the clutch master cylinder binding? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  8 .
  7. Replace the clutch master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then repair is complete. If not, then go to next step.
  8. Remove the transmission. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Inspect the clutch actuator for binding. Is the clutch actuator binding? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then go to step  10 .
  9. Replace the clutch actuator. See CLUTCH ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Did you find and repair the condition? If yes, then repair is complete. If not, then go to next step.
  10. Inspect the clutch disc for wear. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Is the clutch disc worn? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then system is operating normally.
  11. Replace the disc plate. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Does the clutch system operate properly? If yes, then go to next step. If not, then inspect for proper lubrication to the clutch pedal assembly and inspect for the hydraulic lines for blockage or crimping. Also inspect for worn or damaged parts on the master cylinder or the wrong type of fluid and inspect the clutch disc for worn or damaged parts.
  12. Operate the system in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition? If yes, then repair is complete. If not, then go to step  2 .
