DTC B2567: Folding Top Release Switch Circuit (Convertible): Testing

NOTE: If DTC B2567 is a history code, problem may be intermittent. Wiggle wires while performing the following test.
  1. If body rear end diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body rear end diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Turn ignition on. Select BCM data list on scan tool. Monitor FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status on scan tool. If FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status is INACTIVE, go to next step. If FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status is not INACTIVE, go to step  4 .
  3. Monitor FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status on scan tool. Press folding top compartment lid release switch. If FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status does not change, go to next step. If FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status changes, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect folding top compartment lid release switch connector. Turn ignition on. Monitor FOLDING TOP RELEASE SWITCH status on scan tool. If status is not INACTIVE, go to next step. If status is INACTIVE, go to step  7 .
  5. Check for short to ground in Red/Dark Green or Light Green wires between BCM and folding top compartment lid release switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  10 .
  6. Check for intermittent connections at BCM. If connections are okay, go to step  8 . If faulty connection is found and repaired, go to step  10 .
  7. Check for intermittent connections at folding top compartment lid release switch. If connections are okay, go to step  9 . If faulty connection is found and repaired, go to step  10 .
  8. Replace BCM and program. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - CORVETTE article. After repairs, go to step  10 .
  9. Replace folding top compartment lid release switch. See FOLDING TOP COMPARTMENT LID RELEASE SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  10. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. Recheck system operation. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step  2 . If DTC does not reset, repair is complete.
