Test H: Driver Information Center Inoperative: Testing
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Driver Information Center (DIC) display module 8-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Connect a test light between ground and terminal "E" (Yellow wire) at DIC display module harness connector. If test light illuminates, disconnect test light and go to step 6 . If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Check for an open or short to ground in Yellow wire between RADIO ACCY, fuse No. 2 (10-amp) in instrument panel (IP) fuse block and terminal "E" (Yellow wire) at DIC display module harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If problem exists, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 6 . If problem does not exist, go to next step.
- Check Black wire for continuity to ground at terminal "F" at DIC display module harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between DIC display module and ground. Ground point is located at front of engine, near thermostat housing. After repair, go to step 6 .
- Inspect for poor connections at harness connector of DIC. If a problem exist, repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 6 . If a problem does not exist, go to next step.
- Replace DIC display module. See DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER (DIC) DISPLAY MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, perform compass calibration and variance procedure. See COMPASS CALIBRATION/VARIANCE PROCEDURE under PROGRAMMING. After repair, go to next step.
- Connect all disconnected components. Check system for proper operation. If system operates properly, test is complete. If system does not operate properly, go to step 1 .
