Test P: Fasten Safety Belt Chime Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect multifunction alarm module 8-pin harness connector. Multifunction alarm module is located behind instrument panel, above blower motor. Ensure driver-side seat belt buckle is unfastened (released). Using test light, probe between battery voltage and multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal A2 (Black/White wire). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, go to step 4 .
- Disconnect driver-side seat belt switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and driver-side seat belt switch harness connector terminal "A" (Black wire). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 7 .
- Measure resistance in Black/White wire between multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal A2 and driver-side seat belt switch harness connector terminal B. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 8 .
- Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at driver-side seat belt switch harness connector (component side). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 6 .
- Replace multifunction alarm module. See MULTIFUNCTION ALARM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Replace driver-side seat belt switch. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Repair open in Black wire between driver-side seat belt and ground. Ground point is located at base of left "B" pillar. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Repair open in Black/White wire between driver-side seat belt and multifunction alarm module. After repairs, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect all connectors and reinstall components that were removed. Perform audible warnings system check. See AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
