Test O: Fasten Safety Belt Chime Always On
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect multifunction alarm module 8-pin harness connector. Multifunction alarm module is located behind instrument panel, above blower motor. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If fasten safety belt indicator is illuminated, go to next step. If fasten safety belt indicator is not illuminated, go to step 3 .
- Measure voltage between ground and multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal C2 (Yellow wire). If voltage is 2 volts or more, go to step 5 . If voltage is less than 2 volts, go to step 9 .
- Fasten driver-side seat belt buckle. Measure resistance between ground and multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal A2 (Black/White wire). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 6 .
- Disconnect driver-side seat belt buckle harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal A2 (Black/White wire). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to step 7 . If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step 8 .
- Repair short to voltage in Yellow wire between multifunction alarm module and instrument cluster. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Replace multifunction alarm module. See MULTIFUNCTION ALARM MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Repair short to ground in Black/White wire between drivers seat belt and multifunction alarm module. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Replace driver-side seat belt switch. After repairs, go to step 10 .
- Replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect all connectors and reinstall components that were removed. Perform audible warnings system check. See AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
