Test N: Chime Inoperative
- Check fuse No. 10 (15-amp) in instrument panel fuse block. See Fig 1
. Instrument panel fuse block is located on right side of instrument panel. If fuse is open, go to next step. If fuse is not open, go to step 3
.
- Replace fuse No. 10 (15-amp). If fuse does not open, go to next step. If fuse opens again, go to step 5
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect multifunction alarm module 8-pin harness connector. Using test light, probe between multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal B1 (Orange wire) and B2 (Black wire). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, go to step 6
.
- Using test light, probe between ground and multifunction alarm module harness connector terminal B1 (Orange wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 7
. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8
.
- Repair short to ground Orange wire between multifunction alarm module and instrument cluster fuse block. After repairs, go to step 9
.
- Check for poor connection at multifunction alarm module harness connector. If multifunction alarm module harness connector is okay, replace multifunction alarm module module. After repairs, go to step 9
.
- Repair open in Black wire between multifunction alarm module and ground. Ground point is located under instrument panel, mounted to right side of brake pedal bracket. After repairs, go to step 9
.
- Repair open in Orange wire between multifunction alarm module and instrument panel fuse block. After repairs, go to step 9
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect all connectors and reinstall components that were removed. Perform audible warnings system check. See AUDIBLE WARNINGS SYSTEM CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
