Test 13: Driver Information Center Temperature Display Inaccurate
NOTE:
Outside ambient air temperature sensor is also referred to as ambient air temperature sensor.
- Road test vehicle and observe speedometer. If speedometer operates properly, go to next step. If speedometer does not operate properly, go to TEST 7: SPEEDOMETER INACCURATE/INOPERATIVE .
- Check for open in Dark Green wire between terminal "C" at compass/temperature display module harness connector and terminal No. 4 at Vehicle Control Module (VCM) harness connector. See Figure and Figure . If Dark Green wire is okay, go to next step. If Dark Green wire is open, go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ambient air temperature sensor 2-pin connector. Measure resistance between ambient air temperature sensor terminals at specified temperature. See AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE table. If resistance is not as specified, go to step 6 . If resistance is as specified, go to step 5 .
- Repair open in Dark Green wire. After repairs, go to step 7 .
- Replace compass/temperature display module. See COMPASS/TEMPERATURE DISPLAY MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 7 .
- Replace ambient air temperature sensor. See AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Connect all disconnected components. Check system for proper operation. If system operates properly, test is complete. If system does not operate properly, go to step 1 .
