Low Coolant Warning Indicator Is Off When Coolant Level Is Low
- If speedometer works properly, go to next step. If speedometer does not work properly, go to ALL GAUGES & INDICATORS (EXCEPT TURN SIGNALS, HIGH BEAM & SEAT BELT INDICATOR) INOPERATIVE test.
- Disconnect engine coolant level indicator module connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between engine coolant level indicator module connector terminal "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If low coolant warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If low coolant warning indicator does not illuminate, go to step 6 .
- Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between engine coolant level indicator module connector terminals "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and "C" (Black/White wire). If low coolant warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If low coolant warning indicator does not illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Check for poor connection at engine coolant level indicator module connector. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If connection is okay, replace engine coolant level indicator module. Recheck system operation.
- Repair poor connection or open in circuit No. 451 (Black/White wire) between engine coolant level indicator module, underhood accessory wiring junction block and ground. Recheck system operation.
- Check for poor connection or open in circuit No. 68 (Yellow/Black wire) between engine coolant level indicator module, underhood accessory wiring junction block and instrument cluster Black 18-pin connector C2. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check low coolant warning indicator bulb and bulb connection. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If bulb and bulb connection are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
