High Beam Indicator Malfunctioning
- Turn high beam headlights on. If high beams illuminate, go to next step. If high beams do not illuminate, locate and repair problem in headlight system. See HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS & DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS article.
- Operate turn signals. If turn signal indicators operate properly, go to next step. If turn signal indicators do not operate properly, go to TURN SIGNALS, HIGH BEAM & SEAT BELT INDICATOR INOPERATIVE (OTHER INDICATORS & GAUGES OKAY) test.
- Check for poor connection or open in circuit No. 11 (Light Green wire) between instrument cluster Black 18-pin harness connector C2 and splice S219 (located in instrument panel harness under left side of instrument panel, about 4" from radio and rear window wiper/washer multifunction switch breakout). Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check high beam indicator bulb and bulb connection. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If bulb and bulb connection are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
