Low TRAC Indicator Is Inoperative Or Malfunctioning
- If vehicle has been checked for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), go to next step. If vehicle has not been checked for DTCs, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES

- If fuel gauge works properly, go to next step. If fuel gauge does not work properly, go to ALL GAUGES & INDICATORS (EXCEPT TURN SIGNALS, HIGH BEAM & SEAT BELT INDICATOR) INOPERATIVE.
- Disconnect Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Light Gray 24-pin connector C1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If LOW TRAC indicator illuminates, go to next step. If LOW TRAC indicator does not illuminate, go to step 5).
- Check for short to ground in circuit No. 1656 (Light Green wire) between EBCM connector C1 and instrument cluster. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between EBCM harness connector C1, terminal A6 (Light Green wire) and ground. If LOW TRAC indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If LOW TRAC indicator illuminates, locate and repair problem in ABS/traction control system. See ANTI-LOCK/TCS article in BRAKES section.
- Check for poor connection or open in circuit No. 1656 (Light Green wire) between EBCM connector C1 and instrument cluster. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check LOW TRAC indicator bulb and bulb connection. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If bulb and bulb connection are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER R & I
