Speedometer Display Inoperative (Other Digital Displays Are Okay)

  1. Turn ignition on, with engine off. If SERVICE ENGINE SOON light is on, check for related Electronic Control Module (ECM) diagnostic codes. See DIAGNOSTICS - CCM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  . If light is not on, check cruise control and/or radio speed compensated volume control for normal operation.
  2. If no problem is found with cruise control or radio, check for open in Dark Green/White wire between CCM Green connector, ECM, cruise control module and radio control head. If Dark Green/White wire is okay, replace CCM. If problem is found with cruise control and/or radio speed compensated volume control, go to SPEEDOMETER, CRUISE CONTROL & RADIO SPEED COMPENSATED VOLUME CONTROL INOPERATIVE below.
NOTE: Before starting SPEEDOMETER, CRUISE CONTROL & RADIO SPEED COMPENSATED VOLUME CONTROL INOPERATIVE, see the TESTS W/CODES article in this section if Engine Control Module (ECM) Code 24 (vehicle speed sensor circuit) is set.
