Coolant Temperature Gauge Always Indicates Hot

Turn ignition on, with engine off. Disconnect gauge coolant temperature sensor connector. If coolant temperature gauge indicates cold, replace gauge coolant temperature sensor. If coolant temperature gauge does not indicate cold, check for short to ground in Dark Green wire between instrument cluster and gauge coolant temperature sensor. If Dark Green wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
