Coolant Temperature Gauge Always Indicates Cold

  1. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Disconnect gauge coolant temperature sensor connector. Connect jumper wire between Dark Green wire of gauge coolant temperature sensor connector and ground.
  2. If coolant temperature gauge indicates hot, replace gauge coolant temperature sensor. If coolant temperature gauge does not indicate hot, check for open or poor connections in Dark Green wire between instrument cluster and gauge coolant temperature sensor. If Dark Green wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
