Preliminary Checks For Codes 51-54

  1. Ensure contacts between PASS-Key(R) resistor and ignition key are clean. Check for poor connections at Central Control Module (CCM) Green connector and ignition lock cylinder. Check resistance of PASS-Key(R) key resistor pellet. If resistance is 50 ohms or more, replace defective key.
  2. If key does not work, wait 3 minutes for CCM PASS-Key(R) system to reset timer and try another key. After key has been tried 4 separate times in ignition switch and still will not work, CCM PASS-Key(R) timer will switch to 10-minute intervals before resetting.
  3. If key works, destroy defective key and obtain new one. If no keys work, use PASS-Key(R) Interrogator (J-35628-A) to determine key code number.
