Removal & Installation: Spindle: Installation

  1. If necessary, lubricate and install new bearing into spindle using Driver Handle (J-8092 ) and Needle Bearing Installer (J-23445-A ) for V10/1500 & 20/2500, or (J-21465-17 ) for V30/3500. Install bearing seal ("V" block) with groove facing spacer. See Fig 1 .
  2. Install new grease seal onto slinger with slinger lip facing spindle. Install slinger, seal and spacer (chamfer toward slinger) onto axle shaft.
  3. Install spindle and anchor plate and bracket (if equipped) onto steering knuckle. Using NEW nuts, tighten nuts to 65 ft. lbs. (88 N.m). Install hub and rotor assembly with locking hub in reverse of removal procedure. Adjust wheel bearings. See WHEEL BEARING  under ADJUSTMENTS in this article.
