Installation Procedure

- NOTE:
Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
Place a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant (1) on the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Oil Pan (5) - Install
- Oil Pan Bolt (1, 2, 4) - Install and hand tighten [ 14x ]
- Oil Pan Bolt (3) - Install NEW and hand tighten [ 3x ]
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Oil Pan Bolt (1-4) - Tighten in sequence [ 17x ]
- Tighten bolts (1, 2, 4) to 25 N.m (18 lb-ft)
- Tighten bolts (3) to:
- First Pass: 7 N.m (62 lb/in)
- Final Pass: 180 degrees
Install the 5 lower transmission to engine mount bolts. (1) Transmission Replacement (RWD)
- Catalytic Converter Brace - Install - Catalytic Converter Brace Replacement (LSY) , or Catalytic Converter Brace Replacement (LGY)
- Engine Mount Bracket-Left Side - Install - Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side (RWD)
- Engine Mount Bracket-Right Side - Install - Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side (RWD)
Connect the electrical connector. (1)
- Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Connect
Position engine oil cooler and install 4 engine oil cooler bolts (1). Engine Oil Cooler Replacement (LSY) , or Engine Oil Cooler Replacement (LGY)
- Front Differential Carrier Assembly - Install - Front Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement
- Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil.
- Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
