Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.

    Inspect each engine mount to ensure the phenolic spacer (1) is in place and not damaged.

  2. With the aid of an assistant, carefully lower the body onto the drivetrain and front suspension cradle (3).
  3. Attach the harness retainers to the drivetrain and front suspension cradle.
  4. Ensure the following components are clear from the drivetrain and front suspension cradle:
    • Vacuum lines
    • Steering knuckles
    • Electrical wiring harnesses
    • Oil cooler lines

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Rear Bolt (2) - Install NEW and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 

  6. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  7. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Front Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 
  8. Remove the EN-39580  engine support stand from under the vehicle.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Remove the engine support fixture.

    Engine Mount Nut-Left Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Mount Nut-Right Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  13. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Connect the steering gear electrical connectors. (1)

    Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the engine mounts.

    Prepare the intermediate steering shaft lower bolt (1) for installation as follows:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  17. Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  18. Remove the device preventing the steering column from rotating.

    Front Crossmember Brace-Left Side (3) - Install

  20. Front Crossmember Brace Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 
  21. Front Crossmember Brace Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (1) @ Front Wheelhouse Liner (2) - Install

    Front Crossmember Brace-Right Side (3) - Install

  24. Front Crossmember Brace Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 
  25. Front Crossmember Brace Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) @ Front Wheelhouse Liner (1) - Install

    { If equipped } Front Crossmember Brace (2) - Install

  28. { If equipped } Front Crossmember Brace Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 
  29. Remove the support on the radiator.

    Install the stabilizer shaft link to the stabilizer shaft on the left and right side.

  31. Install the stabilizer shaft link nut (1) to the left and right side stabilizer shaft link and tighten. Fastener Specifications

    CAUTION:

    Ensure the Outer Tie Rod Boot is not twisted or deformed during assembly. If the boot is twisted or deformed, damage to the boot will occur.

    Install left and right steering linkage outer tie rods (1) at the left and right steering knuckles.

    Install and tighten the left and right steering linkage outer tie rod nuts (1). Fastener Specifications

    Install the front lower control front link to the steering knuckle.

  35. Front Lower Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the front lower control rear link to the steering knuckle.

  50. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  51. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  52. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  53. Lower the vehicle.
