Installation Procedure

    Raise the drivetrain and front suspension assembly (1) into position.

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Front Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications 

  3. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  4. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Rear Bolt (2) - Install NEW and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 
  5. Remove the jack.
  6. Remove the wiring or straps used to secure the engine coolant fan module radiator assembly to the left and right side radiator upper brackets.

    Electronic Suspension Strut Wiring Harness Retainer - Left Side and Right Side (1) @ Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Install [2x]

    Position the engine wiring harness (3) into place.

  9. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (4) @ Charge Air Cooler Bracket Plate Stud - Install
  10. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) @ Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Install

    Radiator Outlet Hose Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the right side charge air cooler assembly (1) to the vehicle.

    Charge Air Cooler Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the radiator outlet hose retainer (3) to the radiator outlet hose connector at the right side charge air cooler.

  17. Install the radiator outlet hose (2) to the right side charge air cooler.

    Install the auxiliary radiator inlet hose retainer (1) to the auxiliary radiator inlet hose connector at the right side charge air cooler.

  20. Install the auxiliary radiator inlet hose (2) to the right side charge air cooler.

    Install the left side charge air cooler assembly (1) to the vehicle.

    Charge Air Cooler Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the retainer (1) into the auxiliary water pump outlet upper hose connector.

  25. Install the auxiliary water pump outlet upper hose (2) to the left side charge air cooler ensuring that the retainer (1) is fully engaged.

    Install the retainer (1) into the auxiliary radiator outlet hose connector.

  28. Install the auxiliary radiator outlet hose (2) to the left side charge air cooler ensuring that the retainer (1) is fully engaged.

    Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear (3) - Install

  68. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  69. Steering Gear Bolt (2) - Install NEW [2x]
  70. Steering Gear Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the 2 electrical connectors (1).

  72. Secure the engine wiring harness to the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear using a tie strap.

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (2) @ Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear - Install

  74. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  75. Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) @ Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    CAUTION:

    Ensure the Outer Tie Rod Boot is not twisted or deformed during assembly. If the boot is twisted or deformed, damage to the boot will occur.

    NOTE:

    A special anti-seize compound is used in the HO2S threads. The compound consists of liquid graphite and glass beads. The graphite tends to burn away, but the glass beads remain, making the sensor easier to remove. New, or service replacement sensors already have the compound applied to the threads. If the sensor is removed from an exhaust component and if for any reason the sensor is to be reinstalled, the threads must have anti-seize compound applied before reinstallation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Install and tighten the heated oxygen sensor (1) using a suitable tool. Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Install the front cradle sheer plate (2) between the front bumper fascia center air deflector and the driveline and front suspension cradle and raise into position.

  126. Ensure that the left and right side wheelhouse liners (1) are positioned in place under the front cradle sheer plate (2).

  193. Fill the cooling system to the proper level.   194. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
  195. Measure and adjust the front toe. Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment

  197. Perform the following so the vehicle software relearns the steering center position:
    1. Raise the front wheels off the ground.
    2. Start the vehicle.
    3. Rotate steering wheel to the left lock position and hold tightly for 4 seconds.
    4. Rotate steering wheel to the right lock position and hold tightly for 4 seconds.
    5. Repeat steps 195.3 and 195.4.
    6. Lower the vehicle.
