Installation Procedure

  1. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube - Install
  2. GM5399142

    Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Turbocharger (3) - Install

  3. Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
  4. GM5427525

    Install the air cleaner (1) and air cleaner outlet duct (2) as an assembly.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

  6. Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  7. GM5427515

    Electrical Connector (4) - Connect [2x]

  8. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (3) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  9. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  10. Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Air Cleaner Assembly - Install [4x]
  11. Raise the vehicle.
    12. CAUTION:

    Verify the charge air cooler inlet and outlet air tube quick connect seal condition and location prior to installation. Seal must be evenly seated in the quick connector body and sealing surface must be free of deformation and damage. Deformed or damaged seals can lead to reduced engine power and/or engine stalling.

    NOTE:

    DO NOT insert fingers inside quick connect to manipulate duct during disassembly/assembly. Rubber pad gloves increase risk to dislodge seal.

  12. GM5399146

    Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Charge Air Cooler (3) - Install

  13. Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
  14. Verify connection is properly made by pulling and pushing on the tube at the quick connector location.

    Front Wheelhouse Liner (3) - Install

  16. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Install [4x]
    17. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  17. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [7x] - Fastener Specifications
  18. GM5422163

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  19. Front Bumper Fascia Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  20. GM5421515
    NOTE:
    • Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.
    • Components removed for graphic clarity.

    Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Install

  21. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  22. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.

    Front Tire Front Air Deflector (2) - Install

  24. Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  25. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  26. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

  28. GM5432171

    Push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (2).

  29. Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  30. Install the oil fill cap.
  31. Start vehicle and listen for whistling at the charge air cooler inlet air tube quick connect located at the charge air cooler.
