Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the brake master cylinder reservoir grommets with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Grommet (1) - Install [3x]

  3. GM5992399

    Secure the rear of the NEW brake master cylinder reservoir (1) to the brake master cylinder and lower the front until it is fully installed.

  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  6. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the maximum-full level with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake Fluid Level Sensor - Connect

    Plenum Front Panel (1) - Install

    Plenum Front Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  10. Plenum Front Panel Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Plenum Front Panel Nut (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  12. Plenum Front Panel Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  13. Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension (3) into the plenum front panel.
  14. Connect the electrical connector.

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector Retainer (1) - Install [2x]

    Windshield Wiper System Module (2) - Install

  18. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  19. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

  22. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
  23. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [6x]

    Front Compartment Side Sight Shield- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

    Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal- Left Side and Right Side (2) Install [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]

  31. Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the left and right side service parts.
  32. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

    Clean the left and right side windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arms (3).

  34. Windshield Wiper Arm- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]
  35. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  36. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
  37. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

  39. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
  40. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
  41. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
  42. Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
