Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Install a NEW brake pedal retainer (1) to the brake pedal.

  2. Ensure the locking tabs on the brake pedal retainer are fully engaged in the brake pedal.

    NOTE:

    A new brake master cylinder comes equipped with a brake master cylinder reservoir collector that must be replaced with a brake master cylinder reservoir.

    Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (1) - Remove

  4. Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir collector (2) from the brake master cylinder.
  5. Lubricate the brake master cylinder reservoir grommets with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Install the 3 brake master cylinder reservoir grommets (1) to the brake master cylinder reservoir.

    Secure the rear of the NEW brake master cylinder reservoir (2) to the brake master cylinder and lower the front until it is fully installed.

  8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Brake Master Cylinder (1) - Install

    Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engage the brake pedal (1) to the brake master cylinder push rod by pushing inwards.

  13. Ensure the brake pedal retainer is secured by lightly pulling rearward on the brake pedal (1).
  14. Remove the caps from the 4 brake front pipe inlets.

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) - Install

    Install the tabs into the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator (1).

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Retainer (1) - Install

  18. Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  19. Instrument Panel Insulator Nut (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Attach the hood primary latch release cable end retainer to the hood primary latch release cable handle (1).

  21. Connect the front floor courtesy lamp electrical connector.

    Front Brake Pipe Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  23. Rear Brake Pipe Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake System Control Module - Connect

    Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace (2) - Install

  27. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Bolt (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  28. Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Plenum Front Panel (1) - Install

    Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension (3) into the plenum front panel.

  31. Plenum Front Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  32. Plenum Front Panel Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension (3) into the plenum front panel.

  34. Plenum Front Panel Nut (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  35. Plenum Front Panel Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector Retainer (1) - Install [2x]

    Install the windshield wiper system module (2) in the vehicle.

  39. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  40. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

  43. Install the air inlet grille panel (2) between both hood hinges.
  44. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
  45. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [6x]

    Install the front compartment side sight shields (2) to both sides.

  47. Install the front compartment side sight shield retainers (1) to both sides.

    Install the hood rear outer air inlet seals (2) to both sides.

  49. Install the hood rear outer air inlet seal retainers (1) to both sides.

    Install the air inlet grille panel extensions (1).

  51. Remove the masking tape from the body around the top edges of the air inlet grille panel extensions (1).
  52. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

  54. Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arms (3).
  55. Position the windshield wiper arms (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shafts.
  56. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  57. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install [2x]
  58. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  59. Reprogram the brake system control module. Control Module References
  60. Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (JE5, J6G) , or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J55) 
  61. Check for brake system leaks.

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

  63. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
  64. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
  65. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
  66. Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
