Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Install a NEW brake pedal retainer (1) to the brake pedal.
- Ensure the locking tabs on the brake pedal retainer are fully engaged in the brake pedal.
- NOTE:
A new brake master cylinder comes equipped with a brake master cylinder reservoir collector that must be replaced with a brake master cylinder reservoir.
Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (1) - Remove
- Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir collector (2) from the brake master cylinder.
- Lubricate the brake master cylinder reservoir grommets with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Install the 3 brake master cylinder reservoir grommets (1) to the brake master cylinder reservoir.
Secure the rear of the NEW brake master cylinder reservoir (2) to the brake master cylinder and lower the front until it is fully installed.
- Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Brake Master Cylinder (1) - Install
Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Engage the brake pedal (1) to the brake master cylinder push rod by pushing inwards.
- Ensure the brake pedal retainer is secured by lightly pulling rearward on the brake pedal (1).
Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) - Install
Install the tabs into the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator (1).
Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Retainer (1) - Install
- Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Instrument Panel Insulator Nut (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Attach the hood primary latch release cable end retainer to the hood primary latch release cable handle (1).
- Connect the front floor courtesy lamp electrical connector.
Remove the caps from the 4 brake front pipe inlets.
- Front Brake Pipe Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Rear Brake Pipe Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake System Control Module - Connect
Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake Fluid Level Sensor - Connect
Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace (3) - Install
- Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace (3) - Install
- Install the engine wire harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross brace.
- Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
Radiator Air Upper Baffle (3) - Install
- Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]
Plenum Front Panel (1) - Install
Plenum Front Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
- Plenum Front Panel Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
Plenum Front Panel Nut (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
- Plenum Front Panel Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
- Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension (3) into the plenum front panel.
- Connect the electrical connector.
Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector (1) - Install
Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector Retainer (1) - Install [2x]
Windshield Wiper System Module (2) - Install
- Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.
Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install
Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install
- Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
- Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [6x]

Front Compartment Side Sight Shield- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
- Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [6x]

Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
- Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [4x]

Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal- Left Side and Right Side (2) Install [2x]
- Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [4x]

Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
- Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the left and right side service parts.
- Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

Clean the left and right side windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arms (3).
- Windshield Wiper Arm- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]
- Windshield Wiper Arm Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Reprogram the brake system control module. Control Module References
- Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (JE5, J6G) , or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J55)
- Check for brake system leaks.
If required, realign the left side and right side windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
- Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
- Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
- Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
- Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
