Installation Procedure

    Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Coil (4) - Install

  2. Air Conditioning Clutch Coil Retaining Ring (3) - Install
  3. Air Conditioning Compressor Pulley (2) - Install
  4. Air Conditioning Compressor Pulley Bearing Retaining Ring (1) - Install

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

    Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  6. Connect the electrical connector.

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Use the appropriate tool, rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise to install accessory drive primary belt (2) onto the air conditioning compressor (3).

  8. Rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) clockwise allowing tension to be applied to accessory drive primary belt (2).

    NOTE:

    Use the original shim count as a starting point to determine the proper air gap for the air conditioning clutch plate.

    Install the air conditioning clutch shim (s) (2) as needed to achieve the appropriate air gap of 0.25 - 0.41 mm (0.010 - 0.016 in).

    Install and hand tighten the air conditioning clutch drive plate (1).

  11. Measure the air gap between air conditioning clutch drive plate (1) and the air conditioning compressor pulley (2) using the appropriate feeler gauge (3).
  12. If the air gap is out of range remove the air conditioning clutch drive plate, and add or remove shim (s) as need to achieve the appropriate air gap.
  13. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 as needed to achieve the appropriate air gap.

    Use the appropriate tool to hold the air conditioning compressor shaft (3), and the appropriate tool to turn air conditioning clutch drive plate (1) clockwise to tighten. Fastener Specifications

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten (6x) - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  17. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install and tighten
  18. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  20. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install
  21. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten (5x) - Fastener Specifications

  23. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install (2x)
  24. Lower the vehicle.
