Installation Procedure

    { If equipped } Electronic Suspension Rear Vertical Accelerometer (2) - Install

  2. { If equipped } Electronic Suspension Rear Vertical Accelerometer Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications [2x]
  3. Apply a thin coating of grease evenly ensuring complete coverage of the rear suspension knuckle pilot bore only. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Align the rear brake shield (2) to the rear suspension knuckle.

  5. Rear Wheel Hub (1) - Install
  6. Rear Wheel Drive Shaft @ Rear Wheel Hub - Install
  7. Prepare the 3 rear wheel hub bolts (3) for installation as follows:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  8. Rear Wheel Hub Bolt (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications 
  9. Remove the rear suspension knuckle from the soft-jawed vice.

    Rear Suspension Knuckle (1) - Install

    Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  12. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  13. Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Outer Bolt (3) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install NEW
  14. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  15. Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Outer Nut (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  17. Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm Outer Bolt (3) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install NEW
  18. Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm Outer Nut (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Adjust Link (3) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  20. Rear Suspension Adjust Link Washer (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install
  21. Rear Suspension Adjust Link Bolt (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Lower Trailing Link (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  23. Rear Suspension Trailing Arm Bolt (3) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install NEW
  24. Rear Suspension Lower Trailing Link Outer Nut (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Stabilizer Shaft Link (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  26. Rear Stabilizer Shaft Link Bolt (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  28. Rear Suspension Trailing Arm Bolt (3) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install NEW
  29. Rear Suspension Trailing Arm Nut (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Cover (2) - Install

  31. Install the 4 rear spring pins (1).

    Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (2) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install

  33. Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (1) @ Rear Suspension Knuckle - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  34. NOTE:

    Whenever the brake rotor has been separated from the hub/axle flange, any rust or contaminates should be cleaned from the hub/axle flange and the brake rotor mating surfaces. Failure to do this may result in excessive assembled lateral runout (LRO) of the brake rotor, which could lead to brake pulsation.

  35. Using the CH-42450-A  Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit, thoroughly clean any rust or corrosion from the mating surface of the hub/axle flange.
  36. Using the CH-41013  Rotor Resurfacing Kit, thoroughly clean any rust or corrosion from the mating surface and mounting surface of the brake rotor.
  37. Inspect the mating surfaces of the hub/axle flange and the rotor to ensure there are no foreign particles or debris remaining.

    Rear Brake Rotor (1) - Install

    Rear Brake Rotor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the rear brake caliper and bracket (2).

  41. Prepare the 2 rear caliper bracket bolts (1) for installation as follows:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  42. Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  43. Have an assistant apply the brakes.

    Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Nut (1) - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  45. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  46. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  47. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  48. Calibrate the park brake. Park Brake Calibration
