Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply approximately 0.09 - 0.15 g (0.003 - 0.005 oz)  of anti-seize lubricant to each end of the disc brake pad abutments which contact the brake caliper. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Front Disc Brake Outer Pad (2) - Install

  3. Front Disc Brake Inner Pad (1) - Install

    Front Brake Caliper (1) - Install

  5. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  6. Front Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Brake Caliper Spring (2) - Install

    Remove the plug from the front brake hose.

  10. Front Brake Hose Washer (3) - Install NEW [2x]
  11. Front Brake Hose (2) @ Front Brake Caliper - Install
  12. Front Brake Hose Fitting (1) - Install and tighten

    Front Disc Brake Pad Wear Sensor (1) @ Front Disc Brake Inner Pad - Install

  14. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  15. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  16. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  17. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
  18. Slowly release the brake pedal.
  19. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 17 - 18 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
  20. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the maximum-full level with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling
