Installation Procedure

  1. GM5999634

    Engine Mount Bracket (1) - Install

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  3. Wiring Harness Retainer @ Engine Mount Bracket - Install

    CAUTION:

    Phenolic spacer must be present to prevent galvanic/corrosive reaction and/or excessive temperature conduction between engine mount bracket and engine mount. Replace mount if phenolic spacer is missing or damaged. Failure to ensure phenolic spacer is intact and not damaged can lead to premature failure of engine mount and/or engine mount bracket.

    Ensure the phenolic spacer (3) remains in place.

  5. Engine Mount (2) - Install
  6. Use the screw jack to lower the engine onto the engine mount.
  7. Remove the screw jack and the block of wood.
  8. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Install

  10. Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  12. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  13. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  14. GM5396453

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  15. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  16. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  17. GM5396438

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]

  18. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  19. Lower the vehicle.
  20. GM5750845

    Start the 2 NEW engine mount bolts (2) by hand.

    21. CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  21. Engine Mount Bolt (2) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  22. Engine Mount Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    Upper engine mount bracket bolt is easier to install from the top.

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  24. Connect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
