Installation Procedure

  1. GM5399325

    Thermostat Bypass Pipe (3) - Install

  2. Thermostat Bypass Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install
  3. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  4. GM5399315

    Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Outlet Hose (2) @ Thermostat Bypass Pipe - Install

  5. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  6. GM5399284

    Thermostat Bypass Pipe (2) @ Water Pump - Install

  7. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Thermostat Bypass Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Compartment Air Deflector - (1) Install

  11. GM5398001

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

  12. GM5398000

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  13. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install and tighten
  14. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  15. GM5397993

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  16. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install
  17. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  18. GM5397986

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

  19. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B GE 47716)
  22. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
