Installation Procedure

  1. GM5875764

    Install the engine radiator intercooler heat exchanger (1) to the engine radiator.

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Radiator Air Side Baffle - Right Side (2) - Install

  4. Radiator Air Side Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
  5. GM5875762

    Radiator Air Side Baffle - Left Side (1) - Install

  6. Radiator Air Side Baffle Retainer (2) - Install [3x]

    Install the engine coolant fan module radiator (1) with assistance.

    Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  9. Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Retainer (1) - Engage

    Position the forward lamp wiring harness (2) into position.

  11. Wiring Harness Retainer (3) @ Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bracket - Install
  12. Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Cooler Fan - Connect

    Radiator Upper Bracket- Right Side (3) - Install

  14. Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  15. Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install

    Radiator Upper Bracket- Left Side (2) - Install

  17. Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Air Conditioning Sealing Washers Oil or Lubricant Exposure Caution .

    NOTE:

    Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Small (2) - Install NEW

  19. Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (1) - Install

    Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Large (3) - Install NEW

  21. Air Conditioning Evaporative Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (2) - Install
  22. Air Conditioning Condenser Hose Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Radiator Inlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  24. Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Outlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  26. Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Auxiliary Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  28. Auxiliary Radiator Outlet Hose Retainer (1) - Engage

    Auxiliary Radiator Inlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  30. Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (3) @ Cooling Fan Motor - Install

    Front Bumper Fascia Lower Reinforcement- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  35. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [12x] - Fastener Specifications

  38. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radiator Air Lower Baffle (1) - Install

  40. Radiator Air Lower Baffle Retainer (2) - Install [6x]

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector (1) - Install

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install

  43. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications .

    Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Install

  47. Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  48. Install all retainers and wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly as necessary.
  49. Connect the 2 mass airflow sensor electrical connectors.

    Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Install

    51. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  51. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  52. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (2) - Install
  53. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bracket - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]

  55. Install the forward lamp wire harness retainers to the left and right side front end sheet metal cross brace brackets.

    Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]

  58. Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  59. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
  60. Install all wiring harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross braces.

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Lower (2) - Install

  62. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - [2x] Install

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Upper (3) - Install

  64. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  65. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Transmission Control Module (1) @ Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

  67. Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

    Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Control Module (1) - Install

  70. Connect the electrical connectors.

    Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install

  72. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (4) @ Engine Radiator - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  73. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Control Module Bracket - Install
  74. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  75. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
  76. Fill the charge air cooling system. Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling
  77. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  78. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
  79. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
