Installation Procedure

  1. GM5875832

    Install the engine coolant fan module radiator (1) with assistance.

  2. GM5869026

    Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  3. Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Retainer (1) - Engage
  4. GM5869024

    Position the forward lamp wiring harness (2) into position.

  5. Wiring Harness Retainer (3) @ Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bracket - Install
  6. Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Cooler Fan - Connect

    Radiator Upper Bracket- Right Side (3) - Install

    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  9. Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install

    Radiator Upper Bracket- Left Side (2) - Install

  11. Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Air Conditioning Sealing Washers Oil or Lubricant Exposure Caution .

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Small (2) - Install NEW

  13. Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (1) - Install

    Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal - Large (3) - Install NEW

  15. Air Conditioning Evaporative Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (2) - Install
  16. Air Conditioning Condenser Hose Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Radiator Inlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  18. Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Outlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  20. Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Auxiliary Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Install

  22. Auxiliary Radiator Outlet Hose Retainer (1) - Engage

  24. Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (2) @ Cooling Fan Motor - Install

    Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (3) @ Cooling Fan Motor - Install

    Front Bumper Fascia (1) - Install - Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (without Blackwing) , or Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (with Blackwing) , or Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (with Blackwing CFV, CFZ)

    Front Bumper Fascia Lower Reinforcement- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  29. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [12x]

    Front Bumper Fascia Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [12x]

  31. Front Bumper Fascia Lower Stiffener Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [2x]
  32. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [8x]

    Radiator Air Lower Baffle (1) - Install

  34. Radiator Air Lower Baffle Retainer (2) - Install [6x]

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector (1) - Install

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install

  37. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications .

    Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Install

  41. Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  42. Install all retainers and wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly as necessary.
  43. Connect the 2 mass airflow sensor electrical connectors.

    Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Install

    45. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  45. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  46. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (2) - Install
  47. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bracket - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]

  49. Install the forward lamp wire harness retainers to the left and right side front end sheet metal cross brace brackets.

    Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]

  52. Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  53. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
  54. Install all wiring harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross braces.

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Lower (2) - Install

  56. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - [2x] Install

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Upper (3) - Install

  58. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  59. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Transmission Control Module (1) @ Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

  61. Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

    Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Control Module (1) - Install

  64. Connect the electrical connectors.

    Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install

  66. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (4) @ Engine Radiator - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  67. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Control Module Bracket - Install
  68. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  69. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
  70. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  71. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
  72. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
